We start at tranquil Lake Kournas, then go off-road through lush forests to the cascading Argyroupoli Springs, a shaded paradise of cool, running water. Next, navigate the majestic Kotsifou and Kourtaliotiko Gorges, with breathtaking panoramic views at every turn.

Savor an authentic Cretan lunch rich with local flavor in a traditional taverna. The day's highlight is Preveli Beach, a tropical oasis with a unique palm forest where a river meets the sea. Itinerary

1. Lake Kournas

   We start at 9:00 from Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake in Crete. We take in the serene beauty of the lake, admire the surrounding landscape, and capture the moment with a few photos to keep the memories alive.

   Drive through the village of Kournas and follow an off-road route through the Agios Ioannis Azilakas Forest, also known as the famous Azilakas trail.

3. Piges Argiroupolis

   Stop at the Argyroupoli Springs, famous for their crystal-clear waters, nestled under an ancient plane tree that provides natural shade and coolness – 30 minutes to relax and take photos

   Enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch at a local taverna in a village, where you will savor authentic Cretan flavors in a warm and welcoming setting.

5. Kotsifou Canyon

   Drive through the Kotsifou Gorge, admiring the stunning views of the Libyan Sea, before reaching the Preveli Palm Forest

6. Preveli Beach

   Spend 1 hour and 45 minutes at the stunning Preveli Beach, where the river meets the sea, creating a unique tropical landscape with palm trees. To reach the beach, there is a walking trail. Those who cannot walk the trail for health reasons can enjoy swimming at the spot where we stop with our vehicles.
