Located in the south of Rethymno, this spectacular gorge combines dramatic landscapes, crystal-clear springs, and the beauty of untouched Cretan nature. Our journey begins near the traditional village of Koxare and follows the path towards the famous Preveli Beach, where a unique palm forest meets the Libyan Sea.
As you explore the gorge, you will admire the flowing waters of the Kourtaliotis River, hidden waterfalls, and the rich flora and fauna that make this place truly special. Its name comes from the impressive clapping sound created by the wind as it passes through the surrounding caves, adding even more mystery to this enchanting location.
A perfect experience for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and anyone wishing to discover one of Crete’s most unforgettable landscapes.
